Ryuuko Matoi is a young girl who carries a single red scissor blade as she travels in search of the person who killed her father. She eventually arrives at Honouji Academy, a high school that is known for its oppressive student council led by the powerful Satsuki Kiryuuin. The council uses their special uniforms to dominate and intimidate the other students. After being defeated by Satsuki, Ryuuko encounters a possessed uniform named Senketsu, who bonds with her and gives her extraordinary abilities. Together, they challenge Satsuki and the student council in order to free Honnouji Academy from their control and uncover the truth about her father’s death.
